Linkalizer linkbacks

I joined up with Linkalizer to get some more traffic to this site (hopefully). The basic process is you enter in your site info and what categories you would want to link to on your site. Linkalizer then starts matching you up. I picked a decent amount of categories to link exchange with, so some of the following might seem weird. I may end up cutting back on who I accept, but for now I'm going to go all out.

Three months until PayPerPost?

After being confused about why I had no writing opportunities on PayPerPost, I read the fine print and found they do not allow blogs less than 3 months old to post. I found this to be pretty disappointing as I read more and more blogs saying you can make quite a bit of money there. Well, I think I'm up to 3 weeks now. Just ~10 more weeks.

Economic good news: the Dow tops 13,000

I'm not normally big on financial news, but I thought it was interesting that the Dow broke 13,000 today. After all the talk the last year or so, it is nice to see that the market is recovering. Apparently, the increase is due in large part to a major gain in corporate earnings. This record-breaking close also comes at a time when there is a major slump in the housing market. My hope is that things will even out so the Dow, NASDAQ, and the rest of those financial indexes will be healthy and the housing market stabilizes.

Sorry for the short posts the past few days. I've been pretty busy. I'm currently trying to investigate more into PayPerPost as I don't seem to be eligible for any opportunities yet. Gotta keep plugging away I guess.

Here's another great resource for making-money-by-blogging, Mike's Money Making Mission. He has just passed the $1500 mark after 30 weeks of work. Seems like a pretty decent sum for a free blog and not working full-time. If I can even get half that (oh god, I just jinxed myself), I'll be pretty satisfied. Stay tuned for more!

More ads and PayPerPost

If you see a giant gray bar that says "Gathering Data" on my sidebar, please ignore it for now. I'm trying out AdBrite another AdSense-like advertiser. AdBrite seems a little more targetted though as they ask for a decent amount of information about your website. It sounds like they actually have their clients pick what sites they want to advertise on. Sounds interesting, and I'm curious to see how it will go. I've also signed up for PayPerPost. I've heard some good stuff about them (especially the 15000-dollar mission's latest post), but have not written a post yet. Basically, advertisers are paying you to write a review for them. Selling out, yes, but it looks to be quite lucrative. As with all these sites, they also have a referral program:

Next venture, myLot

I started up a myLot account this afternoon and made a few posts. myLot is another pay-for-posting site, although I'm a little more unsure of how you actually earn. The main thing I know is that you need to post frequently. The community seems interesting, but I have to admit, the quality of posts seems fairly low. You can tell a lot of people are just posting whatever they can as fast as they can. I hope I can avoid that mentality myself. While I'm out to make money, I don't want to just shovel some crap wherever I can. myLot also works through referrals, so please click my link above or over on my sidebar if you care to join. Signing up for spam = money!

Last night, I signed up at CashCrate AND made some money. Companies pay CashCrate to list their surveys and signups, and Cashcrate then pays users a small portion of that money to complete the various offers. From the CashCrate FAQ:

"We assure you that this is not a scam! Companies need consumers to try and review products, services, and websites and are willing to pay money to have them do so. Most of the time you're asked to do this without any compensation, what we do is take the money companies give us for YOUR participation, and give you back up to 75% of it!"

I'm guessing that the email account I used for the signups will be inundated with spam, but that's what I use that account for anyway :). I went through a half dozen or so of them, and today my account says I have a confirmed $8.05! The minimum payout is $10, so I'll probably try to do a few more signups tonight to get there. I've seen other people posting that they do pay, but I'm cynical about this stuff.

Getting started

This morning I tried out a couple of pay-for-writing sites. First off is Daytipper. If you're one for giving out pieces of advice, this site is for you. The folks at Daytipper pay $3 for useful tips. I submitted 3 tips this morning, but it takes a couple days for them to be reviewed and published. Once (and if) they go up, I'll throw up some links. The second writing site is Helium. Helium seems to be like Daytipper, but in long form. Helium accepts full articles written under specific titles. You can submit new titles, but they have to go under a review process. If you submit an article under an existing title, the writing goes up immediately. The articles are ranked by members. The higher you rank, the more you can earn. However, the rewards overview does not talk about how much money can be earned.

The sums up my first day with this stuff. I'd also like to give props where props are due. The inspiration for this blog came in large part to The 15000-dollar Mission blog. I came across this blog while doing some research on other money-makers (which turned out to be scams). JCM, I hope you don't mind my copying (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?). I think I will be a regular reader for the time being.

Hello and welcome to the first ever Money for Marriage post! Yes yes, I am very excited, too. The goal of this blog is to look and try out various Internet-based money making... well, I don't want to say schemes but that is probably the most appropriate word. Follow along as I try out pay-for-posting, blogging for money, selling articles/tips, Internet searching for money, and other other -for money opportunities I can find. Will it work? I have no idea but here's for hoping!
